Word of God

We take the approach of systematic verse by verse teaching through the Bible. Simple put we select a book of the Bible and study it until we understand the intent of the author. The reasons for this are many, but I will only highlight a couple here.

1. We feel this is the best for the Pastor. A great temptation for any Pastor is to teach only what he thinks is important, only what he thinks is needful for the direction of the church or only that which will keep him in good standing with as many people as possible. The systematic verse by verse approach allows the Holy Spirit to assign the topics each week and the pace which subjects will be presented. This greatly frees the Pastor to just study and preach passionately what God wants that church to learn.

2. We feel this is the best for the people who are learning about God. The temptation for the people is to select teachers that tell them what they want to hear, tell them what makes them feel good and tell them what will keep them in good standing with as many people as possible. The systematic verse by verse teaching challenges them to be reading and studying ahead and to encounter the revelation of God as He presented Himself to people over the last 6,000 years. This greatly frees the people from assigning to a man the conviction of his heart and solely has to commune with God.
